Profile

I am a cultural researcher and media practitioner specializing in visual communication, media systems, and media education. My work examines how images, sound, and spatial media function in public and institutional settings, with an emphasis on how cultural meaning is conveyed and sustained over time.
I approach media through long-term processes that integrate research, public presentation, and teaching. My practice links artistic inquiry with practical application, often within collaborative settings where media holds public and social responsibility.

Praxis

My work takes place in public, institutional, and civic contexts, where media is experienced collectively. I am frequently invited to develop and present new media projects in public spaces, collaborating with governmental and cultural institutions. In these settings, access, scale, and durability are as important as artistic intent.
Instead of creating isolated artworks, my practice is rooted in long-term processes that involve research, iterative development, and the transformation of concepts into experiences for diverse audiences. Projects often span several years and media. For example, Memoria Norway evolved from photographic research into an archival and performative framework, culminating in a contemporary dance opera.
My practice is defined by continuity and adaptability, moving between research, public presentation, education, and collaboration. I am committed to work that engages with actual institutional conditions.

Current Focus

My current work focuses on cultural presence, immersive heritage, and authored media systems for institutional contexts. This includes developing nonlinear editions, researching spatial storytelling, and designing frameworks that keep cultural memory accessible across distance and time. Rather than prioritizing scale or novelty, I emphasize continuity by building structures that can be revisited, inhabited, and sustained.
